High resolution MR imaging and dynamic hyperpolarized C-13 spectroscopic imaging was applied to the study of normal mice and transgenic mouse models of prostate cancer. The goal of this study was to assess the feasibility of detecting hyperpolarized pyruvate and its metabolic products localized to the prostate and cancer nodules in transgenic models of prostate cancer.
