We report here an MR imaging probe that allows us to detect and visualize the elevation of mRNA transcript resulting from acute responses to cerebral ischemia simulating cardiac arrest in live animal. This contrast probe will enable us to study molecular processes at the transcription level in normal developmental and disease models using live animals.
