Motion artifacts are particularly problematic for 3D imaging due to the increased scan time. Although in-plane motion has been studied extensively, few previous studies have addressed through-plane motion. In this work, a technique for 3-D rigid-body motion correction based on successive data extrapolation and correlation is described. The technique is fast, and the processing time independent of the range of translational motion. Results demonstrate significant improvement in image quality in TOF angiography experiments.
