To increase the off-resonance frequency coverage in transition-band SSFP fMRI, different center frequencies are interleaved in one volume acquisition time. A short transition period of linear center frequency change is introduced to decrease the signal oscillation between the different center frequencies. The activation maps match with those of the conventional method (repeated experiments with different center frequencies) while maintaining the same experimental conditions.
