The CRAZED-like sequences were qualitatively investigated with the strength of coherence selection gradients (CSGs) varying from a very small value to a large value. Obvious signal dip was observed at a specific CSG value, even when the influence of the inhomogeneous fields was eliminated. A detailed study shows that the position of the dip is directly related to the size of sample tube. Results demonstrate the appearance of the dip is a complex effect of CSG, inhomogeneous field and sample geometrywhich can be utilized to explore the structural feature of the sample in MRI applications.
