Image registration plays an important role in neuroimaging research. Under diffeomorphic framework, it is possible to solve the large-deformation problem usually encountered in image registration. Both Begs LDDMM and Ashburners constant velocity filed methods are diffeomorphic. We extended Ashburners method by using a constant acceleration filed. The result shows that LDDMM has shortest path length and lowest energy. Comparing our method and the constant velocity field method, the prior has lower energy and the later has shorter path length. The result suggests that these three methods might have their own strength and weakness in accuracy and computation cost.
