Absolute values of cerebral blood flow (CBF) measurements obtained using arterial spin labeling (ASL) methods depends on the implementation of the technique, the imaging parameters, and also influenced by subjects hemodynamics. This report presents early results from the incorporation of phase contrast measurements of total cerebral blood flow to obtain calibrated regional CBF in deep gray matter and cerebral cortex obtained with 2D- whole brain PASL. The calibrated regional CBF values are more consistent with previously reported values. The CBF measurements using ASL in combination with PCMRI may help overcome the limitations of ASL in providing reliable absolute CBF values.
