In this in vitro study we show that T1ρ provides enhanced sensitivity for the detection of SPIO and USPIO contrast agents in comparison to T2. ΔR1ρ values at 1.41 T of agar gels containing different concentrations of Sinerem and Resovist were respectively up to 4.8-fold and 6.6-fold higher as compared to ΔR2.
