MRE had a high diagnostic accuracy for hepatic fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B. Both fibrosis stage and necroinflammation grade were independent factors contributing to liver stiffness (Multivariate linear regression, =0.798, 0.275; P< .001). For liver tissue with F2 fibrosis, necroinflammation accounts for a portion of the elevated liver stiffness.
