3D magnetization prepared fast gradient echo MR sequence, such as MP-RAGE, has many useful applications because it provides good spatial resolution and T1 contrast. This technique can be further improved with a segmented and recessed elliptical centric view order and by substituting the acquisition of views in k-space corners with zeros. This study shows that this novel acquisiton strategy can provide images with better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and less artifacts than MP-RAGE while reducing scan time.
