Signal dynamics properties of hyperpolarized (HP) 129Xe are important for magnetic resonance imaging of the brain. However, the published T1 values of HP 129Xe in rat brain vary widely, ranging from 3.6 to 26 seconds. In our study, by applying an SNR threshold to minimize the effect of noise, 2 approaches to measuring the T1 of HP 129Xe in the rat brain yielded values of 14.91.4 and 16.42.2 seconds, respectively, which are highly consistent.
