The purpose of this research was to determine whether a variable rate k-space sampling method or a sequential k-space acquisition provides better overall image quality for continuously-moving table (CMT) large field-of-view (FOV) imaging with balanced steady-state free precession (bSSFP). bSSFP CMT large FOV images were collected at the same table velocity using both the variable rate and sequential sampling methods with approximately equal k-space coverage. After qualitative and quantitative comparison between the images, we conclude that sequential k-space sampling is as effective as variable rate k-space sampling during bSSFP CMT large FOV imaging.
