A Low Input Impedance MRI Preamplifier Using a Purely Capacitive Feedback Network

A novel MRI preamplifier is presented which achieves a low input impedance without a bulky high-Q input inductor while maintaining a high equivalent noise input resistance. This allows a significant reduction in size and makes the preamp highly suitable for multi channel loop arrays. The low input impedance which is essential for channel decoupling is achieved over a very large bandwidth so that tuning is strongly simplified.
