Image support reduction technique for self-calibrated partially parallel imaging

In this work, a simple image support reduction technique is introduced for Partially Parallel Imaging (PPI) techniques. This technique can dramatically reduce the artifacts of images reconstructed by self-calibrated PPI techniques, such as GRAPPA or mSENSE , by applying a filter before and after the PPI. Since the kernels of the PPI algorithms need not be changed, this technique can be easily adopted.
