We optimized parameters for whole-body imaging with continuously moving table using a 2D axial SSFP sequence. Our aim was to develop a fast but accurate examination for patients which allows imaging the thorax and abdomen in a single breath hold. After identifying the optimal parameters (sharpness, image quality) in phantoms, they were applied and assessed in volunteers (depiction of small anatomic structures). Slice thicknesses of 6mm with table velocities of 20-22 showed the best results, allowing a 30s breath hold during imaging thorax and abdomen.
