A two-compartment BOLD model of an infusion of contrast agent

A model for the BOLD response has been developed taking account of arterial and venous compartments and the effect of a contrast agent infusion. This model has been fitted to CBV data obtained from an infusion experiment and the fitted parameters are consistent with those values obtained in previous studies where flow data has been employed in the model. However, the results show discrepancies in the fit of the post-stimulus undershoot, suggesting that both volume and oxygenation change play a role in its form.
