An optimized method for calculating the weighting coefficients to normalize sampling density is proposed. It breaks up the collection of points to calculate efficiently the localized sampling desity by dividing k-space into an array of compartments. When calculating density only adjacent compartments need to be traversed instead of the entire catalogue of points.
