A new algorithm for the correction of off-resonance effects is proposed. It is based on the same approximation as standard gridding reconstruction, and it is compatible with direct and iterative approaches. It is shown to achieve a similar accuracy as least squares algorithms, while requiring no time-consuming calculation of interpolation coefficients and offering further advantages in terms of computational complexity. Moreover, it permits balancing the accuracy of the gridding reconstruction and of the field inhomogeneity correction in non-Cartesian imaging. The algorithm is demonstrated in simulations and phantom experiments.
