A new technique called TRELLIS (Translation & Rotation Estimation using Linear Least-squares & Interleaved Strips) MRI is presented. This can effectively track the position of the object being scanned and correct for motion artifacts. The same acquisition time and SNR as a conventional algorithm that samples twice then averages can be achieved. Simulation results show good performance under realistic noise levels. Clinical testing is in progress. This algorithm may offer significant improvements over current state-of-the-art algorithms such as PROPELLER MRI.
