The purpose of this study was to compare shear modulus estimates of small agar gel inclusions using dynamic MR Elastography at 3T and quasi-static compressive mechanical testing. MRE at 500 Hz was performed on cylindrical agar gel inclusions (2 cm diameter, 3 cm height) of varying concentration (0.5 to 2.0%) embedded into a homogeneous agar gel background. Compressive mechanical tests were performed on cylindrical samples from the same batch. The slope and intercept of shear modulus versus agar concentration were found to not be significantly different for the two methods.
