enhancement of gadolinium cannot discriminate acute and chronic injury since
both produce similar changes in the pharmacokinetics of small gadolinium
chelates, such as Gd-DTPA. Here, we demonstrated that the acute myocardial
infarction can be distinguished from both subacute and chronic myocardial
injury by utilizing a DNA-targeted gadolinium chelate (Gd-TO).
