The
technique of parallel transmission in combination with spatially selective
excitation allows for reduction of the field of view in the phase encoding
direction. In this study the novel principle of multi-slice inner volume
imaging is presented and the advantages are illustrated when combined with
single shot EPI. The method was implemented successfully in DWI applications
on the Bruker BioSpec animal system.
