This talk will cover the latest MRI developments in the field of psychiatry. A range of examples where structural and functional MR imaging is playing an increasing role in the assessment of autism, depression, Alzheimers disease and schizophrenia will be reviewed and the potential for automated disease classification and prediction of response to treatment will be highlighted. Integration of such imaging data with other clinical and biological information will undoubtedly increase our neurobiological understanding of these conditions which will lead to better patient management, more personalized interventions and less stigma surrounding these very common disorders.
