Influence from Static Magnetic Fields on Fiber-Optical Temperature Probes - Effects on Safety Measurements at 7T

Fiber-optical temperature probes are commonly used in MR safety measurements on implants. In this work it could be shown that fiber-optical temperature measurements are B₀-dependant and exhibit non-linear temperature dependence: A temperature drop of 2.6C at 7T compared to the earth magnetic field and relative temperature differences of 0.30C between 20C and 60C at 7T were observed.
