Several studies have utilized IVIM for various clinical applications in the abdomen as well as for animal experiments. However, studies in the human brain are rare and without further consensus about its clinical value, application and comparison to conventional perfusion techniques possibly due to the complex diffusion properties in the nervous system and the inherent low SNR.
