In regions with magnetic field inhomogeneities, e.g. close to significant susceptibility differences as in the vicinity of major air cavities, T2*-weighted single-shot EPI with GRAPPA is susceptible to ghosting artifacts. To some extend, these artifacts seem to be related to the offset of the resonance frequency that is not handled appropriately by the GRAPPA reconstruction algorithm. Here, it is shown that with slice-specific frequencies for the data acquisition, i.e. the analog-to-digital converters demodulation frequency and phase settings, these artifacts can be reduced or even avoided.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
