It has been hypothesized that the repeated nocturnal apnea experienced by patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) results in blunting of the normal neurovascular apneic response, causing repeated nocturnal hypoxia which manifests as neurologic comorbidities. In this study, a recently developed method for rapid MRI-based quantification of CMRO 2 was used to determine whether OSA results in reductions in resting-state CMRO 2 and the CMRO 2 response to apnea. Preliminary results, though not statistically significant, suggest OSA-associated reductions in both baseline and apneic CMRO 2 .

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
