Multi-coil shimming with localized shim coils can effectively shim high-order B 0 inhomogeneities, but requires an additional shim coil array outside or inside the RF coil, which compromises the shimming performance and/or SNR. To address these limitations, we recently proposed a new concept that enables parallel RF excitation/reception and B 0 /B 1 shimming with a single coil array, thus maximizing both the SNR and shimming performance, and demonstrated its feasibility in phantom experiments. Here, we further validate it in vivo by demonstrating its ability to perform parallel reception and localized B 0 shimming in the human brain at 3T, specifically for distortion correction in DTI.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
