This study developed a 3-D density adapted spiral sequence, which handles the high dependency on the slewrate limit of the MRI scanners gradient system. It was found to attain a radial fraction of up to 0.21, leading to a time saving of almost 80% compared to commonly used radial projection sequences. 23 Na-MRI of head was conducted using a 7-Tesla whole body MR system.
