Keywords: Pulse Sequence Design, CEST & MTChemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST) MRI has been used to probe metabolism via total creatine contrast using conventional contrast generation with Gaussian saturation. We developed a spatial-spectral (SPSP) saturation pulsed CEST protocol to separate the contrast generated by metabolic subcomponents creatine and phosphocreatine (PCr) in phantoms and the human heart (n=10). Phantom studies revealed uniform CEST contrast for creatine and PCr following saturation with Gaussian pulses, and selective PCr contrast following saturation with SPSP pulses. Human studies revealed both enhanced B1-uniformity and selective PCr contrast with SPSP saturation, enabling quantitation of the PCr/total creatine ratio in the myocardium.
How to access this content:
For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
