Synopsis

Keywords: Flow, AgingVascular disease is strongly associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, it is important to establish normative cerebrovascular changes in aging populations. In this study, we assess sex-specific, age-related changes in total cerebral blood flow (tCBF) and total parenchymal volume in 754 cognitively healthy, older adults. We further investigate whether the same changes are observed in flow normalized by total parenchymal volume. We found (1) significant decrease in tCBF and total parenchymal volume with age in both sexes, (2) no correlation between age and normalized flow in male subjects, and (3) significant decrease in normalized flow with age in female subjects.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
