Synopsis

Keywords: Parkinson's Disease, Quantitative Susceptibility mappingIron concentrations were associated with many significant pathological processes in the brain. The advent of Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) enabled the assessment of magnetic susceptibility in Parkinson’s Disease (PD) brains. Our study revealed that magnetic susceptibilities of regional brain structures varied in mild and moderate PD and we investigated the possibility of early detection of PD using QSM.
