Keywords: Alzheimer's Disease, CEST & MTOur study characterized the hippocampal glucose uptake in an Alzheimer’s Disease rat model (TgF344AD) comorbid with metabolic syndrome modeled by cafeteria (CAF) diet. Glucose uptake was evaluated by detecting 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2DG) using chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI in 6- and 12-month-old cohorts, reflecting pre-clinical and established disease stages, respectively. CAF diet attenuated glucose uptake of both non-transgenic and transgenic-AD at 6 months of age; whereas at 12 months of age, CAF diet enhanced the hippocampal glucose uptake of TgAD but attenuated it in chow-fed TgAD, when compared to that in correspondingly fed nTg littermates.
How to access this content:
For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
