Synopsis

Keywords: Interventional Devices, Interventional DevicesIntra-arterial chemotherapy following blood-brain barrier opening (BBBO) can be a highly effective therapeutic delivery mechanism when treating primary and metastatic disease in the brain. Osmotic blood-brain barrier disruption has long been performed under x-ray guidance but has yet to gain clinical traction partially due to outcome variability. MRI is advantageous for its superior soft tissue contrast and real-time perfusion territory validation. We propose a passive microcatheter to provide real-time feedback of catheter positioning during BBBO under MRI guidance. In a phantom, we quantitated susceptibility artifacts at 3T. The catheter showed promise as a new MRI-visible tool to enhance BBBO procedures.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
