Simultaneous Determination of Perfusion and Microvascular Permeability: Measurement Precision with T1-weighted DCE-MRI

Two methods for estimating the bolus arrival time in T1-weighted dynamic contrast enhanced MRI data were compared, and a bootstrap error analysis was used to estimate precision in simultaneous measurements of microvascular perfusion and permeability using the adiabatic approximation to the tissue homogeneity model. An independent method for estimating bolus arrival time was found to be more accurate and precise than a model-fitting approach. Both perfusion and permeability could be measured with acceptable accuracy.
