In this study, MRI was used to characterize for the very first time the cardiac physiology and anatomy of the hexosamidase B knockout mouse (hexB-/-), a mouse model of Sandhoffs disease, The stroke volume and total heart muscle thickness of hexB-/- and control mice were compared at 6-8 weeks of age as well as at 15 19 weeks, just prior to the age when the hexB-/- mice typically perish.
