Utilizing the rodent stroke model and available MRI facilities, the present experimental system proved to be beneficial for anti-stroke drug evaluation. Comprehensive MRI approach allows noninvasive assessment of the therapeutic effects of Pli and tPA and their hemorrhagic transformation in rats. Pli may be a potential alternative to tPA with higher safety for ischemic stroke treatment.
