We present a novel technique for identifying neural stemcells (NSC) in rodent brain which uses a NSC specific signaturedetectable by high resolution microMRI spectroscopy. We havesuccessfully demonstrated the usefulness of this method for detecting and quantifying both endogenous and exogenous NSC in vivo. This raises thepossibility of tracking survival and distribution of implanted NSC inhuman brain.
