The combination of parallel imaging with multi-echo EPI allows dynamic-contrast enhancement-based high-resolution perfusion imaging. The multi-echo technique provides accurate estimation of the arterial input function. Furthermore, cerebral blood volume and flow can be assessed undisturbed from changes in longitudinal relaxation. Together with parallel imaging, artifact-reduced high-resolution maps are obtained.
