Cine black-blood images of the heart were successfully produced using stimulated echo mode (STEAM) after correction of deformation-induced artifacts. Because of the splitting of the image acquisition over several cardiac cycles, the method required at least one breath-hold in order to acquire the entire cine sequence. In this work, we present implementation of the STEAM sequence on 3.0T scanners that produces black-blood cine sequences of the heart acquired in a period of a single cardiac cycle. The method depends on efficient fat suppression technique combined with interleaved spiral acquisition of the k-space.
