In high-resolution trabecular bone imaging, motion correction is particularly relevant due to the small voxel size and the long scan time. It is also more challenging due to low image SNR (~9). In this work, combined rotational/translational motion correction using autofocusing was demonstrated in a large clinical data set. Results show consistent improvements in image quality as visually observed and as evidenced by the changes in the architectural parameters, when compared with translational motion correction only using a 2-D navigator echo technique.
