Brain 1H2O T1 maps were collected from 16 healthy controls and 17 MS subjects at 4 T. Normal appearing white and gray matter ROIs were selected and T1 values were compared between control and MS groups, and also between sexes. T1 values were increased by 6% in MS NAWM, with men and women showing similar increases. T1 values were also increased in MS NAGM, but only for the women. These findings suggest possible regional differences in MS disease expression between the sexes.
