The application of sodium imaging to clinical research has been limited by low concentration and short T2 times in-vivo. This work assesses the image quality of two sequences previously used for sodium imaging; twisted projection imaging (TPI), implemented with a flexible user-interface, and short-TE FLASH. These techniques were tested on phantom and newborn piglets.
