Direct validation of in vivo localized 13C MRS measurements of [1-13C] glycogen in rat brain

In vivo 13C MRS is to date the only non-invasive method to assess brain glycogen metabolism under physiological condition. The present study validated in vivo 13C MRS measurement of brain glycogen over a wide concentration range within 20%, when comparing with biochemical determined 13C labeled glycogen.
