We developed and validated a method to assess in a single breath-hold the left ventricular function, using a 2D FIESTA-SP pulse sequence (gated FIESTA with Steady State preparation) with scan time efficiency to nearly 100%. Image quality and measurements of EF, SV, LVEDV, LVESV, LVMassED and LVMassES were compared with those derived from a series of separate breath-hold single-section conventional FIESTA acquisitions.
