Malignant
breast tumors induce high level angiogenesis, resulting in increased
vascularity and perfusion. For breast MRI, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI is
most widely used to detect and characterize tumors; on the other hand,
arterial spin labeling (ASL) technique
is very challenging due to low baseline flow in breasts. Here, we show our
experience in 2D breast ASL using FAIR labeling and background suppression in
both volunteers and patients. With our technique, higher perfusion signal was
depicted in tumor.
