Highly
enriched embryonic stem cell derived cardiomyocytes (ESC-CMs) were obtained
in large numbers for in vivo study that examined the potential of these cells
in the treatment of myocardial infarction. Our data suggest that ESC-CM
mediated a teratoma free myocardial repair with significant recovery of
regional and global contractile function over the period of 2 months.
