Relevant structural variates were collectively explored for a comprehensive morphological assessment on brain hemispheric asymmetry alterations among groups of healthy aging, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) converters, and Alzheimers disease (AD). Region specific preservation, reduction or reverse of hemispheric asymmetries were found to differ among groups of MCI and AD as compared with healthy aging, which may reflect the underlying mechanisms useful for disease diagnosis, differentiation and monitoring of MCI and AD.
