Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPGs) are one of the most difficult pediatric cancers to treat. The methods for assessing treatment response and tumor progression are based on radiographic response but conventional MRI is not sufficient for predicting clinical outcome. We have demonstrated the feasibility of using hyperpolarized 13 C metabolic imaging to evaluate in vivo metabolism in orthotopic brainstem xenografts injected with human DIPG cells. The results suggest that this technique may provide a unique non-invasive imaging tool that is able to differentiate between different tissue pathologies and aid in the management of patients with DIPG.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
