Abnormalities of cingulate cortex in antipsychotic-nave chronic schizophrenia

In this study, we examined the sub divisional morphology of cingulate cortex in antipsychotic-nave schizophrenia by using a surface-based analysis. And we also investigated the changes of morphology in cingulate cortex and their associations with clinical variables and cognitive performance. The results show that changes of cingulate cortex play a critical role in schizophrenia, and demonstrated that the left PCC volume deficit may play a role in the working memory of the disorder. And these are not attributable to contamination by antipsychotic drugs.
